Homemade Apple Sauce

Applesauce is another one of my fall favorites!  I snack on applesauce all year long, but the store bought stuff has nothing on a fresh, warm batch of the homemade stuff!  Nothing beats this on a chilly fall Saturday afternoon while snuggling up with a good book - at least that's how I enjoyed this tasty treat!

Homemade Apple Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 8 McIntosh apples; peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1/8 t cloves
  • 1/4 cup sugar stevia blend
Directions
  1. In a medium sauce pan, over medium heat, add the first 4 ingredients (water through cloves)
  2. Bring the ingredients to a boil then simmer for 8-10 minutes; until the apples are tender
  3. During the last minute of cooking, stir in the sugar
  4. Transfer the mixture to a food processor and blend until smooth
