Peppermint Bark

Looking for the perfect office treat this holiday season?  Wondering what to do with all of those broken candy canes? While most people are bringing cookies to share with coworkers or friends, surprise them with this festive treat.  This no bake goodie can be whipped up in minutes and it still encompasses the holiday flare!

Peppermint Bark

Ingredients
  • 1 11.5 oz. bag of Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 11.5 oz. bag of Ghirardelli White Chocolate Chips
  • ½ t peppermint extract
  • 6 peppermint flavored candy canes
  • red and green colored sugar (optional)
Directions
  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper
  2. Crush the candy canes with a rolling pin or blend them, in a blender for 4-5 seconds; set aside
  3. Microwave the milk chocolate, in 30 second increments, stirring in between each time, until the chocolate is fully melted
  4. Spread the chocolate, in an even layer, on the baking tray
  5. Refrigerate until chocolate has hardened
  6. Once hardened, melt the white chocolate, in 30 second increments, stirring in between each time, until the chocolate is fully melted
  7. Stir the peppermint extract into the white chocolate
  8. Spread the white chocolate over the milk chocolate in an even layer
  9. Sprinkle the top with the crushed candy canes and colored sugar
  10. Refrigerate until complete hardened
  11. Break into pieces
